The Conservative Argument would be: After 9/11 happened, Bush was able to prevent any other attacks from happening. As soon as Obama, a liberal, became President we got hit again.
The Liberal Argument would be: If Bush had finished the job and not unnecessarily and under false pretenses invaded Iraq, a country headed by a Secular Dictator, then bin Laden would have been captured or killed by now.
The Non-Partisan Thinkers Argument would be: How can you blame the President? An attack like 9/11 is virtually unstoppable. The best thing would be for America to completely get out of the Middle East and out of most if not all countries we have troops in around the world. Hence, advocating an isolationist mentality as George Washington so clearly laid out the philosophy for his predecessors in his farewell address.
* Thinker's Response to Liberal Argument: the Iraq War was definitely a catastrophic mistake that absolutely nothing was gained from. Actually, for America having a Saddam, who was a Secular and brutal dictator, was probably better for us in the War on Terror. Al Qaeda would have been absolutely annihilated if they were to try to move into Iraq. Saddam was about Saddam and that's it. He was terrible for and on the Iraqi people, but that's their fight, not ours. However, even if Bush did not choose to invade Iraq, that doesn't mean we would have been able to get bin Laden. Killing bin Laden, necessitates that we know where he is located. If we knew that, then all we need is any one of our badass missiles. Of course, I would prefer him to be captured because killing him is what he wants so he can fulfill his fucked up definition of honor by being killed in what his fucked up mind and interpretation of Islam that allows him to believe being killed by the Military of the 3,000 innocent Americans he murdered as dying in the fight for God. Plus, he wouldn't suffer like he deserves if we killed him. Anyways, the point is that we didn't where he was then and we don't know where he is now. It doesn't matter how many troops we send to Afghanistan if he isn't there.
* Thinkers Response to Conservative: America's short history with Al Qaeda defeats this argument. The same thing could be said about Clinton. After Al Qaeda tried to hit the World Trade Center in 1993, they never hit us here on the mainland. They did kill Americans in other places, such as the USS Cole attacks and the US embassies in Kenya and Tanzania, but they did the same with Bush in power by being able to gain access into Iraq and attacking our our troops. Also, they waited 8 years to try another attack when they weren't being pursued like they were after 9/11. We weren't 100% positive who was behind the first attacks until much later. Therefore, it has to be more difficult for them to organize and employ a detailed plan such as 9/11. Also, they don't have to try to come here and start the fight. They can just do it over there.
POINT OF BLOG: the absurdity of how quick each side is ready to point a finger instead of actually working together and getting what is most likely the best for everyone has become incomprehensible. It's not just liberals to blame and it's not just conservatives to blame.
BOTH ARE TO BLAME FOR ACTING LIKE SELF APPOINTED GODS OF ALL THE PERFECT IDEAS AND INFINITE WISDOM. ITS ALSO REALLY ANNOYING TO HAVE TO WATCH THE PARANOIA OF BOTH SIDES. BUSH WASN'T HITLER, AND NEITHER IS OBAMA. THAT IS BEYOND DISGRACEFUL, OFFENSIVE TO ALL AMERRICANS, AND CLASSLESS TO COMPARE ANY OF OUR PRESIDENT'S TO A MAN THAT WAS RESPONSIBLE FOR OVER 100 MILLION DEATHS AND THE DEATHS OF 6 MILLION JEWS IN THE HOLOCAUST. ITS ALSO EQUALLY OFFENSIVE TO ALL AMERICANS AND MOCKS THE VICTIMS FAMILIES OF 9/11 WHEN PEOPLE CALL OUR PRESIDENT OSAMA OR A JIHADIST
I'M SICK OF READING PEOPLE ALWAYS WHINING ABOUT HOW OUR COUNTRY IS BEING DESTROYED RIGHT IN FRONT OF THEIR EYES BECAUSE THEIR POLITICAL PARTY LOST...YES WE ARE LOSING OUR COUNTRY BUT IT IS BECAUSE OF THE PARTISAN (PROBABLY MORE ACCURATELY CALLED TRIBALISTIC) ATTACKS
And in this rant, I basically stated exactly what both sides would try to argue if were hit again, and how neither side is right. There are parts of each argument that if combined would be the right solution. Don't say Obama won't work with Republicans, because Republicans won't work with him either. Neither side has honestly tried. They both went straight to their corners and started taking cheap shots.
AND IT IS THIS PARTISAN BS THAT IS BRINGING AN END TO THE COUNTRY AS WE KNEW GROWING UP
